Session Details

Date: November 27, 2025
Location: NAMUR Annual General Meeting, Neuss – Room Beethoven 4

Sarat introduced the first technical implementation of the NAMUR Standard PID Controller, developed in alignment with the 2018 position paper from NAMUR Working Group 2.2. This implementation addresses key challenges in industrial automation and represents a significant step toward more interoperable and vendor-independent control systems.

Key benefits of the standardized PID controller include:
  • Consistent parameterization: Reduces the burden on operators and technicians
  • Standardized functionality and interfaces: Minimizes errors and ensures full transparency
  • Reliable and consistent control results across platforms and vendors: Enables full freedom to exchange or replace automation systems and modules

This initiative reflects UniversalAutomation.org’s commitment to driving open, interoperable automation solutions that simplify engineering and accelerate innovation.

We look forward to the continued collaboration with NAMUR and its members.
